Bursa Regional State Symphony Orchestra (BBDSO) opened the 2017-2018 concert season on Thursday, October 5. Conducted by Dağhan Doğu, Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Choir performed Carmina Burana at the opening concert.
The number of orchestra audience in Bursa grew by 45.6%.
Stating that they had been supporting Bursa Philharmonic Society for over five years and would continue to support it in order for the art life in Bursa to evolve and be sustainable, Ömer Kızıl, Vice Chairman of the Board at Uludağ Beverage and Chairman of the Board at Bursa Philharmonic Society, said, "We are so glad to receive such interest from the people of Bursa. The most recent data published by TURKSTAT in June shows that despite the decrease in the number of audience across Turkey, Bursa experienced a record high increase by 45.6% in the number of orchestra audience. Therefore, we are very much proud of the activities by our orchestra, which reaches out to thousands of people every year. Once again, we offer our sincere thanks the people of Bursa and to art lovers."
